Marco Morelli

Marco Morelli,Executive Chairman of AXA Investment Managers and member of the management committee of AXA Group from September 2020. A graduate of Luiss in Economics and Business Management, was Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA from September 2016 to May 2020. His career has spanned many of the leading financial institutions in Italy and abroad.Also trained as a qualified Chartered Accountant and Auditor, he launched his career with KPMG, Samuel Montagu & Co., and UBS, in posts across Europe. Morelli soon became Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of JP Morgan Italia and a member of JP Morgan Europe's Executive Committee.

He went on to hold a number of senior management roles within the Montepaschi Group, first as Chief Executive Officer of MPS Capital Services SpA and later as Deputy General Manager of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (2006-2010). From 2010-2012, Morelli served as General Manager and Deputy CEO of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. He joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch as Vice Chairman over EMEA, before becoming CEO of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Italia (2010-2016).

Throughout his career, Morelli has been a Director and Member of the Executive Committee of the ABI - Italian Banking Association and a Member of the Board of Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture (F2i), Banca IMI SpA, Beni Stabili SpA, and Clessidra Private Equity Fund.

Morelli is also a Founding Partner and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Don Gino Rigoldi Foundation – Onlus and is a Lecturer of Economics & Finance and Business Management at Luiss University.
