Sergei Shatalov

Sergei Shatalov is currently the Director at LUKOIL Romania. Sergei has previously served as the Deputy Chairman at Eurasian Development Bank, responsible for managing the EURASEC Anti-crisis Fund (US$8.5 billion, acf.eabr.org), shareholder relations (secretariat of the Executive Board), and policy coordination with other development institutions. From February 2014 to December 2014, they were an adviser at The World Bank in the Office of the Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia Region, where they managed one of the Region's Flagship reports "Government as Investor" and some other analytical products. Prior to that, they served as the Country Manager for Kazakhstan at The World Bank from January 2007 to January 2010, managing the World Bank program in Kazakhstan. Sergei also served as the Lead economist for Iraq at The World Bank from January 1992 to November 2006. From September 1978 to December 1991, they worked their way up from Research Assistant to Lead Researcher at the Institute for African Studies, USSR Academy of Sciences.

Sergei Shatalov earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Finance from the Institute of African Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Sergei also holds a B.Sc in International Finance from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). Sergei has also earned doctorates from Middle and High School No. 49 in Moscow, Russia.
