Julie Boukobza has extensive work experience in the arts and journalism industries. Julie started their career as a journalist for Reservoir Prod Television Production Company in 2000 and later worked as a journalist for Air France Madame magazine. In 2006, they became the Editor in Chief for l'Officiel magazine. From 2011 to 2013, they worked in the New York office of Almine Rech Gallery. In 2014, they worked at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain. From 2008 to 2022, they worked as a journalist for various publications including Artpress, Frog, DOUBLE, L'Officiel Art, L'Officiel Voyages, and Pin Up. In 2013, they became a co-curator at Le Palais de Tokyo and then in 2018, they became the Head of Luma Arles Residency Programs.

Julie Boukobza attended Lycée Janson de Sailly until 1998. Julie then pursued a study of History and Art History DEUG in Paris, although the start and end years are not provided.
