Lead Devops Engineer at Lumar

Giedrius K. has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2015 as a Software Developer Intern for Ericsson. In 2016, they worked as a Sales Executive for Virgin Media. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Software Developer/Scrum Master for BT, designing, developing and deploying serverless services on Amazon Web Services. In 2020, they worked as a Cloud Engineer for Inawisdom, helping clients migrate to AWS and deploy different workloads. Currently, they are a Lead DevOps Engineer and Senior DevOps Engineer for Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl), managing their infrastructure in AWS using AWS CDK and introducing Kubernetes to the company. Giedrius also updated their CD process to use more secure IAM roles to comply with SOC2 requirements and designed, implemented and tested a new ElasticSearch7 deployment on Kubernetes to migrate an old ES5 cluster from Puppet managed EC2 instances. Additionally, they migrated their VPN solution from Production environment to a separate tools environment.

Giedrius K. has an extensive educational history. Giedrius completed their secondary education at Alytus Adolfo Ramanausko - Vanago Gymnasium from 2011 to 2013, where they studied History, Lithuanian, English, and Mathematics. Giedrius then attended Coventry University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Games and Programming Skills. Additionally, Giedrius K. has obtained numerous certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty (2022), AWS Certified Security - Specialty (2021), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (2021), Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner (2019), Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate (2019), Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Professional (2021), Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate (2019), and Amazon Web Services SysOps Administrator - Associate (2020). Giedrius also holds a Unified Streaming Certified certification from Unified Streaming (2019).
