Avi Smila has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Avi is currently the Founder and CIO at Lumen, a role they took on in June 2022. Prior to this, Avi was the CTO and Co-founder of Lumen from January 2014 to July 2022. Avi also served as an Investor at Kano Computing starting from June 2013. Avi held the position of Investor at Tipalti from September 2011. Before that, they were the CTO Wibiya at Conduit from July 2011 to December 2013, and the CTO and Co-founder of Wibiya from September 2008 to July 2011. Avi worked as a Consultant at 2DoIt, Zbang.it from September 2007 to August 2008 and as the CTO at Joongel from January 2007 to August 2008. Avi held the role of UX/UI Designer/Developer at Vestopia from June 2007 to July 2008. Avi began their career as a Web Developer/Team leader at Egg Design from April 2005 to October 2007. Additionally, they worked as a Freelancer UX/UI Consultant for Veecee, Comverse, and IncrediMail from May 2005 to July 2006, focusing on UI/UX design and creating Flash/Actionscript 2.0 based applications.
Avi Smila began their education in 1995 at the Chinease-American School of Arts, where they pursued a degree in Graphics and Animation, specializing in Flash. Avi completed their education at the school in 1996.
In 1996, Avi enrolled in Israel Jobs and pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Avi completed their degree in 2000.
Following their graduation from Israel Jobs, Avi attended Ramat Gan College in 2000 and 2001. Avi obtained an MCSE and CCNA degree in Computers during their time at the college.
Avi took a break from formal education before continuing their studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2005 and 2006. During this period, they focused on the fields of Art History and French language.
