Bryed Billerbeck

R&d Product Development Director at Lumentum

Bryed Billerbeck has over 30 years of work experience in various engineering and leadership roles. Bryed started their career at Hewlett-Packard, where they served as Process Automation Engineering Manager and implemented efficient PCB assembly lines. Bryed then moved to Finnigan MAT, where they worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager and introduced three new mass spectrometers. After that, Bryed joined Compression Labs, where they served as Director of Production and Hardware Engineering, introducing several products for the TV Set Top Box and Video Conferencing divisions. Bryed continued their career at Logitech as Director of Engineering and Program Management, leading the development and production ramp of over 30 digital video PC cameras. Bryed then joined The Telos Network, BTM & Finelite as VP/Director of Engineering, Operations & Program Management, where they managed the development of LED and fluorescent luminaires and helped develop company product life cycle processes. In 2009, they joined Canesta as part of the Camera Platforms Engineering team, directing the development of multiple 3D imaging cameras for Microsoft's Kinect program. Bryed's most recent role was at Lumentum as R&D Product Development Director, where they developed high-power IR fiber and UV cavity laser products and created a laser-based Applications Development Platform for time-of-flight depth imaging applications.

Bryed Billerbeck has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, which was earned between 1975 and 1979. In 1983, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University. That same year, they also underwent training in Japanese Manufacturing Techniques at the Technology Transfer Institute in Japan. Additionally, Bryed has received Program Management Training from the Program Management Institute.
