Michael Demerchant

Michael DeMerchant is a seasoned professional in product line management and development, currently serving as Senior Director of Product Line Management for Optical Circuit Switches at Lumentum since April 2008. In this role, Michael is responsible for establishing and expanding the optical circuit switch product line, collaborating with customers and product development teams to enhance AI data center networks. Previous positions at Lumentum include Senior Director of Product Development for Transport Line Subsystems and various roles in product and test engineering, with a foundational career beginning as a Test Engineer. Prior to Lumentum, Michael was the Lead Test Engineer at Meriton Networks and held managerial responsibilities in test engineering at Lumentum from 2000 to 2007. Academic qualifications include a PhD and BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.
