Lawrence Korngut

Lawrence Korngut has extensive work experience in the medical field. Lawrence is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Lumiio Inc since October 2016, where they focus on real-world data collection services in the healthcare industry. Lawrence is also the Founder of KASTx Ventures Inc since April 2020, where they collaborate with medical researchers to bring their research to patients through commercialization. Prior to this, Lawrence served as the Director of Innovation and Commercialization at Hotchkiss Brain Institute starting in April 2019. Lawrence has been associated with the University of Calgary since September 2015, holding roles such as Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Calgary Neuromuscular Program (from July 2017 to August 2021). Additionally, Lawrence has worked as a Scientist at Creative Destruction Lab since September 2020.

Lawrence Korngut completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at Queen's University from 1995 to 1998. Lawrence went on to earn their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Western University, studying from 1998 to 2002. Lawrence then pursued a Neurology Residency at Western University from 2002 to 2007. Following this, they obtained a Neuromuscular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Calgary, where they studied from 2007 to 2009. Lawrence continued their education at the University of Calgary, earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Epidemiology, which they completed from 2010 to 2014.
