Aseem Patil

Aseem Patil is an experienced optical systems manager currently leading the technical efforts for the optical transceiver in Luminar Technologies' next-generation automotive LiDAR, Halo, since March 2020. Aseem has a strong background in optical engineering, having previously served as a senior optical engineer at Luminar and North American Lighting, where key accomplishments included the design and release of multiple automotive lamps and the successful development of custom metrology tools. Aseem began the career with internships at Mercedes-Benz and Bharat Petroleum, focusing on fluid dynamics and industrial processes, respectively. Aseem holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
