Steve Gallema

Steve has 40 years experience in analog and mixed signal integrated circuit design and related system development. At Black Forest Engi­neering, which he founded in 1990 and was acquired by Luminar, he participated in the development of more than 280 custom integrated circuits primarily for image acquisition and display. Over the span of his career, Dr. Gaalema has worked with Hughes Aircraft Co. and as the Chief Engineer of Hughes Microelectronics Center where he was responsible for directing the development of IR focal plane arrays and their integration with analog signal processing and subsystem packaging. At the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Dr. Gaalema developed a spacecraft precision pointing and tracking system using large-area charged-coupled device image sensors.
