Tobias Kessler

Tobias Kessler is a highly skilled software engineer with extensive experience in the development of autonomous driving technologies and safety systems. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Luminar Technologies since July 2022, Tobias focuses on proactive safety and highway assistance systems. Prior to this role, Tobias was a Research Scientist and Co-Head of the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Group at Fortiss from June 2014 to June 2022, emphasizing behavior generation, trajectory planning, and real-road scenario applications, while also managing various research projects. Tobias's earlier experience includes working as a Simulation Software Developer at TESIS GmbH where responsibilities encompassed the development of simulation models and vehicle control systems. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Informatik and a Diplom in Techno-Mathematik from the Technical University of Munich, along with an exchange year at Chalmers University of Technology.
