Bennett Amodio has been a software engineer since 2021, working for Luminary Cloud. Prior to this, they worked as a software engineer at Pure Storage from 2017-2021, where they worked on FlashBlade, the distributed, scale-out file and object storage product. They also led development of a set highly performant client-side tools and helped start a team focused on developer productivity and build/test cycles. Before this, they worked as a software engineering intern at Pure Storage from 2017-2021, where they worked on the FlashBlade team, using multipathing to improve the Linux kernel NFSv3 client. From 2013-2014, they worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a tech caller, where their responsibilities included calling MIT alumni to fundraise for the MIT annual fund and keep them connected to the MIT community. They also specialized in calling alumni who have never donated and trained new callers in how to talk to and solicit alumni and how to use CampusCall software. In 2014/2015, they worked as a systems manager for the Research Science Institute, where their responsibilities included extending and maintaining a library of Bash, Python, Perl and C scripts and programs. They also debugged a multitude of Latex errors and assisted with formatting for student papers, as well as coordinating with MIT administration to facilitate use of MIT resources, troubleshooting and fixing audio/visual equipment and related software.
Bennett Amodio attended West Anchorage High School from 2009 to 2013, where they earned their High School Diploma. 🌶 Bennett then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering.
