Logan Cummings is an Engagement Manager at Luminary Labs. Logan has a background in strategy and innovation in the humanitarian aid and international development sectors. He is adept at breaking down and structuring big, ambiguous problems — then bringing together diverse coalitions to co-create solutions in some of the most difficult contexts.
Prior to joining Luminary Labs, Logan worked as a Research and Innovation Strategy Lead at the International Rescue Committee’s Airbel Impact Lab. His work focused on developing the organizational strategy to design, test, and scale life-changing solutions for people affected by conflict and disaster. Logan’s work has run the gamut across a variety of sectors and contexts, including working with community-based organizations in Jordan to co-design innovations in refugee mental health and psychosocial support services; leading strategy development for improving women’s access to community-based contraceptive, maternal, and newborn health services in northeast Nigeria and South Sudan; and developing a scaling strategy for an autonomous learning platform serving out-of-school youth in Colombia. Across these diverse projects, the common threads have been a dedication to co-creating solutions with members of the affected communities and keeping a laser focus on potential for scale.
Logan holds a Master of Public Administration in International Public and Nonprofit Policy and Management from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and French from NYU. Outside of work, Logan is passionate about contributing to New York’s vibrant queer community, exploring the city via new bike routes, and ensuring that he doesn’t break his daily New York Times crossword streak.
