Diana Tao has a diverse work experience. Diana began their career in 2009 as a Receptionist at Parkway Pet Clinic. In 2012, they volunteered as a Panda Keeper at UC San Diego Extension and as a Volunteer at Spay Neuter Clinic. In 2014, they worked as an Environmental Health and Safety/ Facilities and Packaging Assistant at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Life Technologies). From 2015 to 2020, they worked at MarDx Diagnostics, Inc. in various roles, including Senior Lead Associate, Internal Auditor, Point of Care Production Associate, and Point of Care Production Technician. Most recently, they have been a Manufacturing Scientist at Lumos Diagnostics since 2020, where they maintain an organized manufacturing area and ensures products are completed by the deadline, enforces GDP and cGMP standards, and trains new personnel on manufacturing processes and laboratory safety practices.

Diana Tao completed their Bachelor's degree in Physiology, General at UC San Diego from 2009 to 2012. Diana then attended Palomar College from 2007 to 2009, studying Biology/Biological Sciences, General. In 2014, they attended San Diego State University, but did not receive a degree. Finally, they completed their Professional Science Master's Degree in Biotechnology at California State University San Marcos from 2017 to 2019.
