Katie McAlpine

Katie McAlpine, PhD, is an experienced Optical Metrology Engineer and Team Lead at OptoFidelity, specializing in augmented reality research since August 2020. Prior to this role, Katie accumulated significant tutoring experience as a self-employed private tutor from August 2014 to August 2020, focusing on physics and mathematics for high school and college students, including work with the University of Washington. Katie also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington from July 2013 to December 2019, where research contributed to a doctoral thesis. Earlier academic work included an undergraduate research position at New College of Florida, where studies revolved around thermal properties and chemistry of nanoparticles. Katie holds a PhD and MS in Physics from the University of Washington and a BA in Physics from New College of Florida.
