Yang Xu is an experienced research scientist and team leader in the field of nanopharma. In 2008, Xu started working as a research assistant professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In this role, Xu mentored students and worked on drug delivery and gene delivery for cancer treatment using carbon-based nanomaterials. Later in 2014, Xu joined Luna Innovations Incorporated as a research scientist and progressively climbed the ranks to become a senior research scientist and Nanopharma Group Lead. Xu worked there until 2022. In 2022, Xu joined Luna Labs as Senior Research Scientist & NanoPharma Team Lead.

From 1999 to 2004, Yang Xu attended Nanjing University where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physical Chemistry.
