Steve Ferguson

Steve Ferguson is a Senior Engineer at Luna Innovations Incorporated since October 2018, focusing on the development of innovative optical Fabry-Pérot based accelerometers and associated manufacturing automation. Previously, as a Process Development Engineer at Micron Optics, Inc. from July 2000 to January 2004, Steve designed the second generation Fabry-Perot Tunable Filter, which significantly reduced assembly time and costs. At Lucent Technologies, from June 1986 to July 2000, Steve held roles as a Manufacturing Controls Engineer, optimizing control systems for fiber optic draw towers, and as a Process Automation Engineer, developing automated assembly and testing systems for fiber optic connectors. Steve holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Automatic Controls, both from Georgia Institute of Technology.
