Clayton M. Jones served as chairman of the board of Rockwell Collins from 2002 to July 2014, and as chief executive officer from 2001 until his retirement in 2013. Jones also served as president of Rockwell Collins and corporate officer and senior vice president of Rockwell International, which he joined in 1979.
Jones currently is a director of Deere & Company. He is a former member of The Business Council, the Business Roundtable, the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and is an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree from George Washington University. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot from 1971 to 1979.
