Jeremiah Pate has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2014 when they were an Intel ISEF Finalist. During this time, they engineered and patented AMELIA, a machine learning-based aircraft safety system, and successfully reversed Parkinson's disease in a fruit fly model of neurodegeneration. In 2015, they worked as an Image Analyst for the Planetary Science Institute - Rampart Crater Project and as a Photometry Consultant for the Dark Sky Project. In 2016, they founded and became the CEO of Lunasonde, a company that makes the underground world visible, fundamentally transforming our understanding of the planet. Jeremiah also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Specialist for R3 Aerospace, where they built and evaluated prototype rocket engines for Raytheon and developed a pressurization system for a liquid fuel rocket engine. In honor of their research, an asteroid was named 34104 Jeremiahpate.
Jeremiah Pate obtained a Biochemistry degree from the University of Arizona. Additionally, they obtained a Private Pilot's License in March 2018.
