Dr. Cherie P. Erkmen is a Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Temple University Health Systems and Temple’s Center for Asian Health. She specializes in robotic techniques to deliver the highest quality of care thoracic surgery patients. She is a devoted educator and the founding Program Director of the ACGME-Accredited Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at Temple. She is also the Program Director for Temple’s Lung Cancer Screening Program that screens people at high risk and expedites treatment for lung cancer. Her research focuses on bringing technology of screening and multidisciplinary care to underserved populations. She is part of a Temple’s NIH-funded U54 grant exploring cancer disparities, and she is the P.I. of an American Cancer Society—Pfizer grant to disseminate a novel single-visit lung cancer screening model.
