Penjani Mkandawire has worked in a variety of roles since 2018. In 2021, they were a Future Analyst & Co-Creator for Demola Global, a Drive Test Data Collection Assistant, and an Instrumentation Engineer for Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company. In 2020, they were a Software Developer for Payments Central Ltd. In 2019, they were an Electrical Engineer for Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO). In 2018, they were a Founder and Software Engineer for Kudu Computing Ltd. Penjani is currently a Software Engineer at Lupiya, a Google-backed neobank, where they develop features and functionality to help in-house teams improve process efficiency and ensure customers can access credit facilities through the online platform in a timely manner.

Penjani Mkandawire holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Zambia. In addition, they have obtained two certifications from LinkedIn: Advanced Node.js: Scaling Applications in January 2022 and C++: Advanced Topics in January 2022.
