Rachel Fischer is a highly accomplished scientific professional with extensive experience in managing research programs and partnerships. Currently, as a Scientific Program Officer at the Lupus Research Alliance since September 2025, Rachel leads initiatives to advance research in lupus. Prior to this role, Rachel served as a Scientific Project Manager at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, overseeing the Accelerating Medicines Partnership® Program in Common Metabolic Diseases. Rachel's tenure at the Melanoma Research Alliance included progressive leadership roles focused on grant management, registry operations, and collaboration with pharmaceutical companies, contributing significantly to the advancement of melanoma research. Rachel holds a PhD in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University, where original research focused on glaucoma, and has authored multiple publications. Earning a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of St. Thomas, Rachel has also engaged in various advocacy and scientific roles throughout a diverse career in biomedical research and non-profit organizations.
