Krista Tartoni

VP, Strategy Execution & Chief of Staff at Lurie Children's Hospital

Krista Tartoni is the current VP of Strategy Execution & Chief of Staff to President & CEO at Lurie Children's Hospital. Krista was previously the Senior Director, Service Line Development at Children's Medical Center from July 2010 to May 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading the Hospital's effort to grow service line volumes via programmatic breadth and depth. This included identifying and implementing new business opportunities and acting as service line liaison for affiliations with other hospitals throughout the region.

During their time at Children's Medical Center, Krista developed and led governance committees including Neurosciences Service Line Executive Committee, Neuro Leadership Committee, and the Psychiatry Leadership Committee. Krista also developed an infrastructure for all hospital service lines from charters to strategic priorities: Cancer, Heart, Transplant, Neurosciences, Surgery, Fetal/Neonatal. In addition, they led the team responsible for evaluating the hospital's best means (build vs partner) for offering pediatric Urgent Care.

Under Krista's leadership, the Service Line Development team grew to four directors plus support personnel. Krista also participated as a member of various system-wide governance committees including Service Line Steering Committee, Quality and Patient Safety, Capital Planning, and Grievance Council.

During their time at Children's Medical Center, Krista developed strategic Neurosciences programs including concussion, minimally invasive epilepsy surgery, rounding robot, and inpatient rehabilitation unit. These initiatives helped Children's Medical Center become a leader in pediatric healthcare.

Krista Tartoni has a MBA from D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and a BA in English Linguistics from Old Dominion University, where they graduated cum laude.
