Richard Nowlin

Richard Nowlin has a wealth of experience in arts management and marketing. Richard began their career in 1986 as the Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival. Richard then moved on to the Lexington Philharmonic as the Director of Marketing before becoming the Associate Director of Marketing for the Louisville Orchestra. In 1993, they joined the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as the President & CEO, a position they held for 14 years. In 2007, Nowlin became the President & CEO of the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, where they currently work.

Richard Nowlin completed the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Speech and Theater from Indiana University Southeast, which they attended from 1980 to 1985. In addition to their formal education, Richard obtained a certification in Leading for Equity and Inclusion from the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership in May 2022.
