Karen Coughlin

Karen Coughlin has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Karen started their career as a Medical Office Assistant at Nord Ginnetti Family Medicine in 1981 and worked there until 1989. From 1989 to 1992, they worked at Galena Family Clinic, where they were responsible for Medicaid billing and also filled in as a Receptionist and Billing staff when needed. Karen then worked as an Insurance Coordinator at David Field, MD from 1992 to 1993. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Group Underwriter at GCG Financial Services (formerly known as The Heartland Firm) until 1997. From 1997 to 1998, they were an Assistant Manager at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, and from 1998 to 1998, they worked as a Customer Service Representative at The Van Gundy Agency. Karen then joined OSF HealthPlans in 1999 as a Small Group Representative, where they were responsible for selling Group Health Insurance to small Employers, building and maintaining relationships with Insurance Agents and staff, and providing ongoing customer service. In 2007, they worked as a Group Benefits Coordinator at COUNTRY Financial® for about a year. Currently, they are the Marketing Services Director at Lutheran Life Communities, where they began working in 2008.

Karen Coughlin received a Certificate in Medical/Clinical Assistant from Illinois Central College, where they studied from 1980 to 1982. Karen also obtained additional certifications throughout their career, including a Certified Marketing Professional from LeadingAge in January 2013, a Certified Medical Assistant in 1984, and an Illinois Producers Insurance License in 1998.
