Walter D. Bayne

Mr. Bayne joined Cary Street Partners in 2007 when Stewart Wealth Management became part of Cary Street Partners. Mr. Bayne’s capabilities were quickly recognized as he was named branch manager of the Fredericksburg branch of Cary Street Partners. In 2015 he became the Chief Operating Officer and in 2022 he was named President of the firm. Even with his expanding management roles, Mr. Bayne has continued to maintain an active and growing book of wealth management business.

Mr. Bayne joined Stewart Wealth Management from Legg Mason where he was a financial advisor. He began his career with Southern States Cooperative after graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Agricultural Economics.

As President of the firm, Walter leads the execution of the overall daily operations and is responsible for executing the company’s business plan with emphasis on integrity and compliance.
