Richard Ulffers

Richard Ulffers serves as the Head of School at the International School of Boston since July 2016, overseeing a diverse community of over 600 students and staff within a fully French and internationally accredited bilingual setting. Prior experience includes significant leadership roles at the French American International School in San Francisco, encompassing positions such as Assistant Head of School, Principal, and Assistant Principal, where responsibilities spanned strategic direction, budget oversight, and faculty management in a K-12 bilingual environment. Additional teaching experience includes roles at various institutions, focusing on history and English, as well as the implementation of ESL programs in post-Soviet Czech Republic education. Richard Ulffers holds a Master's degree in Education from the University of Iowa, earned between 1995 and 1997.
