Taylor Rabara, Ph.D.

Taylor Rabara, Ph.D. has worked as a Scientist II at Lycia Therapeutics starting from 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Calithera Biosciences as a Scientist II from April 2022 to January 2023, where they developed and optimized methods to express, purify, store, and assay AAA ATPase proteins, characterized new enzyme batches, and managed CRO projects. Before that, they worked as a Scientist II, Research and Development at Vaxcyte from March 2022 to April 2022, where they designed protein constructs of potential vaccine antigens, assessed and optimized protein expression levels, and developed purification strategies. They also worked as a Scientist I, Research and Development, and an Associate Scientist I, Research and Development at Vaxcyte from November 2020 to February 2022 and from April 2020 to November 2020, respectively. Rabara's earlier work experience includes being a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Graduate Student Researcher, Ph.D. and MS at the University of the Pacific from 2013 to 2019, where they developed protein production protocols and methods, validated a novel protein structure prediction model, investigated specificity changes in bZIP transcription factor interactions, and investigated the interaction between protein components of black widow spider dragline silk.

Taylor Rabara, Ph.D. completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry at the University of the Pacific from 2008 to 2012. From 2013 to 2016, Rabara pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the same university. Rabara then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences from 2016 to 2019, also at the University of the Pacific.
