Gary Hafer

Gary Hafer is an experienced educator and professional in both academia and the culinary industry. Currently serving as a Weber Grill Ambassador and Weber-trained Grilled Demonstrator for Weber LLC since April 2018, Hafer also holds the position of John P. Graham Endowed Teaching Professor and Professor of English at Lycoming College, where teaching focuses on interdisciplinary writing instruction and supporting students with varied academic preparedness. Additionally, Hafer contributes to the Journal of Excellence in College Teaching as an Advisor-Referee and has held editorial board membership for the Teaching Professor. Hafer earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies from Purdue University between 1985 and 1990, emphasizing a pedagogy that views writing as a skill developed through dedicated practice.
