Zach Schmitz

Zach Schmitz has a diverse work experience spanning several biotech and research companies. Zach is currently working at Lyell Immunopharma as the Associate Director of Manufacturing Operations, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to that, they were the Manufacturing Operations Manager at Lyell Immunopharma from September 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Lyell Immunopharma, Zach worked at Juno Therapeutics, Inc. where they held various roles including Manufacturing Manager from April 2018 to September 2020, Manufacturing Supervisor from February 2016 to April 2018, and Manufacturing Associate III from June 2015 to February 2016.

Zach started their career at Fred Hutch as a Cellular Production Associate II from August 2014 to June 2015. Zach then moved on to the University of Washington where they worked as a Research Scientist from August 2012 to August 2014, and as a Clinical Laboratory Technician 2 from October 2010 to August 2012.

Prior to that, Zach worked at Favrille as a Cellular Processing Associate II from June 2006 to March 2007, and at Aalto Scientific, LTD. as a Production Manager / Production Associate from November 2002 to June 2006.

Zach Schmitz completed their undergraduate studies at Arizona State University from 1997 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Later, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Bioengineering from the University of Washington. Additionally, it is known that Zach had some experience in Biology, General at Arizona State University, although the exact duration or degree obtained is unspecified.
