Daniel Zhi is a highly experienced engineer with a strong background in data infrastructure and distributed systems. Currently a Staff Engineer at Lyft since September 2018, Daniel specializes in analytical data infrastructure, managing extensive Hive tables and substantial data in S3 using Java. Prior to this role, experience includes serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon Elastic MapReduce, where Daniel focused on Hadoop and Big Data infrastructures, and a Senior Software Design Engineer at Microsoft and Google, contributing to web search systems and data processing frameworks. Daniel holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and an additional Master’s in Applied Mathematics from Tsinghua University, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University.
