Ragunathan Dhanasekaran has held a variety of roles in the engineering industry since 2016. In 2016, they were an Internship Trainee at Integral Coach Factory (Southern Railways, India) where they conducted detailed analysis of the 'Shell and Furnishing' division of Railways, inspected bogie and bogie components, and analyzed the maintenance of air brake systems, wheels, and axles. In 2017, they were an Internship Trainee at Amalgamations Repco Limited (Clutch manufacturing division) where they analyzed the various manufacturing processes for parts like Clutch Driven Plate, Clutch Cover Assemblies, and Flywheel Starter Ring Gears. Ragunathan was also an Internship Trainee at India Cements Limited (Manufacturing Unit) where they analyzed the crushing, grinding, and blending process of limestone, clay, and iron in rotary kilns, examined the grinding process of clinker with gypsum to form cement, and studied the chemical composition of cement. In 2018, they were an Internship Trainee at Simpsons & Co. Ltd., (Diesel engine manufacturing unit) where they conducted detailed analysis of critical components of engine parts like crankshafts, cylinder heads, and cylinder blocks. In 2021, they were a Fibre Designer at ST Consulting. Currently, they are a Maintenance Engineer at Lyka where they are responsible for developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans, coordinating and sourcing relevant contractors and service providers, managing and making orders for the inventory of spare parts and consumables, keeping the maintenance logs up-to-date and analyzing trends to provide innovative recommendations, working with facility leadership to schedule major preventative maintenance services, providing support to other production/operations teams such as SHEQ & Process Engineering, keeping track of expenditure on preventative and reactive maintenance, leading facility/machinery improvement projects, and developing and revising work procedures (SOPs). Ragunathan is also a Mechanical Engineer at Vitex Pharmaceuticals where they are tasked with troubleshooting and fixing machinery as required, performing preventative and breakdown maintenance, and performing periodic quality and safety checks.

Ragunathan Dhanasekaran completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology between 2015 and 2019. Ragunathan then went on to pursue a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong between 2020 and 2021. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Essentials in Product Design from CADD Centre Training Services Pvt Ltd. in April 2020.
