Robert Alford

Robert Alford is a highly experienced metallurgist with a focus on minerals processing and extensive expertise in project management. Currently serving as Technical Manager - Projects at Lynas Corporation Ltd since February 2013, Alford has previously held several key positions at BHP Billiton, including Engineering Lead - Concentrator, Senior Technical Metallurgist, Senior Research Metallurgist, and Senior Development Metallurgist. Notable accomplishments at BHP Billiton involve leading a pre-feasibility study for the Olympic Dam mine expansion, developing flotation flow sheets, and executing process improvement projects. Earlier in their career, Alford provided technical support at McArthur River Mining. Alford holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Minerals Processing from The University of Queensland, earned from 1987 to 1991.
