5th Grade, Teacher at LYNDEN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

I am a 1988 graduate of Calvin College. I previously taught 6th grade for 13 years and have been teaching 5th grade since 2002.

All of God’s children have been created in His image; therefore, each of us is valuable and special to Him. As a Christian teacher, I try to teach my students in such a way that they feel valued by God and by me. Christian teachers have been given an important responsibility in striving to teach our students to become mature, Christian citizens of the world they are entering. Within each subject area, we can teach and learn through the spectacles of God’s Word, which reveals God’s perfect Creation, our fallen nature, and our need and answer for redemption. I thank and praise God every day for the privilege of teaching in a Christian environment with such special young people.

My husband, Victor, teaches Social Studies at Mount Vernon High School. We have four children: Nolan, Grant, Nicole and Abbie. We are members of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
