1st Grade, Teacher at LYNDEN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

I grew up on a dairy farm on the Wiser Lake Road along with five brothers and one sister. I attended Lynden Christian School and graduated in 1975. From there, I graduated from Dordt College in 1979. I began teaching in a small school in Sibley, Iowa and taught a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade combination for two years. My husband, Jim, and I got married and moved to Lynden for a short while. We spent a year in Seattle where I taught Kindergarten. In 1983, I began teaching at Lynden Christian and shortly thereafter completed my fifth year at WWU. I taught Remedial Reading until 1994 when I began teaching 1st grade.

Jim and I have two wonderful boys, Hunter and Chase. Hunter graduated in 2004 from Lynden Christian and in 2006 from Bellingham Tech. Chase graduated in 2006 from Lynden Christian and in 2008 from Bellingham Technical College. Both boys are welders and are married now to wonderful girls. I now have daughters! We are now grandparents as well! We attend Mountain View CRC.

It has been a blessing to teach 1st grade at Lynden Christian. Every child is a wonderful gift. I want them to know how special it is to be a child of God.
