Andrea Brown Smatlan

Andrea Brown Smatlan serves as VP and Chief Sustainability Officer at LyondellBasell since November 2019, focusing on sustainability strategies that enhance commercial value and minimize risk, while positioning the company as a leader in sustainability and ESG. Prior to this role, Andrea was Global Director of Sustainability at LyondellBasell and Director of Impact Strategy at Quadia, where efforts were directed at aligning corporate sustainability goals with the UN SDGs. Andrea has extensive experience with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, contributing to circular economy initiatives and GHG emissions reporting. Additionally, experience includes representing organizations in the European Commission's Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and shaping climate policy for the Government of Alberta. Currently pursuing an MBA Essentials at The London School of Economics, previous education includes an M.A. in Asia Pacific Policy Studies from The University of British Columbia and a B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies from the University of Alberta.
