Smita Das

Smita Das, MD, PhD, MPH, serves as the Vice President of Psychiatry and Complex Care at Lyra Health since April 2019, holding previous roles such as Senior Medical Director and Medical Director of Psychiatry. Concurrently, Smita Das is the Chair and a member of the Council on Addiction Psychiatry at the American Psychiatric Association since May 2014. Smita Das also holds a Clinical Associate Professorship at Stanford University School of Medicine and has held various teaching positions there since 2015. Previously, Smita Das served as President of the Northern California Psychiatric Society and held the role of Director of Addiction Treatment Services at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. Smita Das completed an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at UCSF Medical Center and a Psychiatry Residency at Stanford Hospital & Clinics. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Statistics from Stanford University, a Master of Public Health from Dartmouth College, and both an MD and a PhD in Community Health from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
