Christine Di Bella has over 20 years of experience working in the field of archival management. Christine began their career in 1998 as a University Library Associate at the University of Michigan, where they conducted workflow analyses and made recommendations for process improvements. In 2000, they joined the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan as a Manuscript Assistant, where they developed strategies for preserving and accessing university websites. Christine also served as an Assistant Archivist at the Baker Library at Harvard Business School, where they processed faculty papers and developed databases for collections.
In 2003, Di Bella became a Project Archivist at the 92nd Street Y, managing a project to process the institutional archives of a Jewish nonprofit organization. Christine then joined the Institute for Advanced Study in 2009 as an Archivist, overseeing collection management and leading preservation efforts for the Archives of the Institute.
From 2006 to 2009, Di Bella worked as an Archivist and Project Director at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, managing a Mellon Foundation-funded project to assess archival collections at various institutions in Philadelphia. Christine also served as a Project Archivist at the Bentley Historical Library, where they worked on a grant-funded project to process records from the Museum of Anthropology at the University of Michigan.
Since 2014, Di Bella has been involved with LYRASIS, starting as an ArchivesSpace Program Assistant and later moving into roles as ArchivesSpace Community Outreach Manager and ArchivesSpace Program Manager. In these positions, they have played a pivotal role in setting the strategy and goals for the ArchivesSpace program, coordinating user documentation and training programs, and serving as an advocate for the community.
Throughout their career, Di Bella has demonstrated their expertise in collection management, preservation, and providing access to archival materials. Christine is skilled in coordinating projects, managing digital collections, and developing finding aids and access tools.
Christine Di Bella obtained a B.A. degree in English from Wesleyan University, attending from 1991 to 1995. Christine then pursued a Master of Science in Information (MSI) degree from the University of Michigan - School of Information, completing it from 1998 to 2000. Additionally, in 2014, Christine earned a Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) certificate from the Society of American Archivists.
