Loren Walensky

Loren is a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, Attending Physician in Pediatric Oncology and Principal Investigator in Cancer Chemical Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Director of the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD Program. He has nearly two decades of experience in the stapled peptide field with applications in oncology, infectious disease, and metabolic diseases. As a postdoctoral fellow, he designed, synthesized and validated the first cell-penetrant stapled peptide for in vivo use (Walensky et al. Science, 2004). He has published 50+ papers on stapled peptides and is the recipient of an Outstanding Investigator Award from the NIH on the basis of his work. Loren received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and trained as a Resident in Pediatrics and Fellow in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber.
