Brendan Buzer

Brendan Buzer has extensive experience in product management, with a focus on safety and telematics products. Currently, they are the Director of Product Management at Lytx, where they lead the company's core Safety Product offering. In this role, they are responsible for creating and improving various product lines, including Hardware, Embedded Software, Compliance, Fleet Tracking, Maintenance, and Routing Products.

Prior to their current position, Brendan worked at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC as the Manager of Product Line - Vision and Data Systems. In this role, they oversaw a 48-person engineering and sales department and managed multiple product lines from initiation to end-of-life. Brendan also served as the Director of seven direct reports, managing various areas such as Big Data, Scrum, Program Management, Web and Mobile, Embedded Software, Hardware, and Sales. Brendan was instrumental in evaluating personnel needs and presenting business plan proposals to secure additional headcount.

Earlier in their career, Brendan worked at MiX Telematics, where they held various positions. As a Product Manager, they were responsible for the entire product portfolio sold in the USA, Canada, Latin, and South America. Brendan gathered client requirements, developed detailed product strategies, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to execute launch plans. Brendan also oversaw product testing and monthly platform releases. Brendan also had roles in Operations and Business Development and as a Software Tester during their time at MiX Telematics.

Throughout their career, Brendan demonstrated strong leadership skills, product expertise, and the ability to manage multiple teams and projects. Brendan has also developed strong relationships with third-party vendors, leading to successful integration projects and long-term contracts.

Brendan Buzer attended Stellenbosch University from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biodiversity and Ecology. In 2013, they earned a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from the Scrum Alliance.
