Sergio Fernandes

Sergio Fernandes has a strong background in finance and leadership roles. Sergio currently serves as the Corporate Vice President of Finance at M-D Building Products, a position they started in March 2022. Prior to this, from 2016 to 2022, Sergio was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kelvion Inc (formerly GEA Rainey Thermal Solutions), where they provided strategic and financial support for various departments in the US market. From 2014 to 2016, they held the same position at Kelvion Intercambiadores Ltda. (formerly GEA do Brasil Intercambiadores Ltda), overseeing finance and administration for the Brazil & Latin America market. Before that, from 2009 to 2013, Sergio worked as the Head of Finance at MWM INTERNATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL CAMINHOES- Navistar Mercosur - a Navistar Company, improving financial procedures and leading finance staff. Sergio also held financial controller roles at Cinemark Brasil and Nextel Telecomunicações, where they implemented financial controls and rebuilt departments. Earlier in their career, Sergio served as the Tax and Accounting Manager at Sumitomo, contributing to the reorganization of the accounting and tax departments. Sergio also worked as an Auditor at Coopers & Lybrand Auditores Independentes.

Sergio Fernandes has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Management and Administration from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. Sergio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Controllership from Universidade São Judas Tadeu. In addition, they have certifications in the Brazilian CPA from Universidade São Judas Tadeu and in Financial Modeling & Valuation Analysis from Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI).
