Nicola Trendel

Nicola Trendel has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Nicola began their career as an intern in the Biochemical Networks group at AMOLF in 2012. Nicola then moved on to an internship in the Physics of Living Systems group at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2013. In 2014, they joined the University of Oxford as a PhD student at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, where they stayed until 2019.

After completing their studies, Trendel joined McKinsey & Company in 2019 as an Associate Consultant. Nicola was promoted to Senior Associate Consultant in 2020 and then served as a Junior Engagement Manager from 2020 to 2021.

In 2021, Trendel joined m.Doc GmbH and took on the role of Strategic and Operational Assistant to the CEO. Nicola later became the Director of Operations (interim) and then transitioned to the role of Director of Strategic Projects & CEO Office. Nicola is currently serving as the Director of Operations, Strategic Projects & CEO Office.

At m.Doc GmbH, Trendel also took on additional responsibilities such as leading the Finance & Accounting, HR, and Internal IT departments in an interim capacity and managing post-merger integration projects within these departments during 2022 and 2023.

Overall, Trendel has a strong background in operations, strategy, and project management, with experience in consulting, research, and leadership roles.

Nicola Trendel has a strong educational background in the field of science and biology. Nicola completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Systems Biology from the University of Oxford between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biophysics from Amsterdam University College from 2010 to 2013. Nicola also has an International Baccalaureate in Chemistry, Higher Mathematics, and English from United World College Costa Rica (2007-2009). Nicola obtained a General certificate of secondary education from Pestalozzi-Gymnasium Unna (2004-2007), and completed their early secondary education at Ernst-Barlach Gymnasium Unna (2001-2004).

In addition to their formal education, Nicola Trendel has also acquired several certifications. Nicola is a Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) and a Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) from Scrum.org. Nicola is also an Associate Fellow of The Higher Education Academy, which they obtained in 2017.
