Chris Southgate

Chris joined M&J Evans in June 2020 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, Chris was with Barratt Developments PLC for six years where he was appointed to the post of Divisional Managing Director, running the Barratt & David Wilson North Midlands Divisions.

With a mixed industry background Chris previously held senior management roles with Kwik Fit as Divisional Director of Sales and Operations for seven years, and prior to that spent another seven years at the country’s largest brewer and pub retailer, Scottish and Newcastle PLC, culminating as Sales and Operations Director.

Chris’s diverse background and time spent with Barratt Homes especially has provided him with valuable insight and understanding of the expectation of M&J Evans’ clients and the house building market in general.

Chris has full day-to-day operational responsibility for delivering the business's strategy in a profitable, safe, and people-focused manner.
