Magarita Sara Imbiakha, MSc has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Magarita Sara currently holds the role of Global Director of Credit at M-KOPA, where they are responsible for designing and implementing credit risk management strategies across multiple geographies and products. Prior to this, they served as the Global Head of Credit at M-KOPA, overseeing portfolio monitoring, management, and reporting for credit performance optimization.

Before joining M-KOPA, Magarita worked at Kifiya Financial Technology PLC as the Digital Lending General Manager, where they played a pivotal role in designing the business strategy for a pioneer digital lending Fintech.

Magarita Sara'sprevious experience includes a position as Senior Data Scientist_Governance & Controls at NCBA Group, where they focused on actualizing the data science strategy for the Research, Quality, and Governance domain across multiple countries. As the Credit Operations Manager - NBV at Commercial Bank of Africa, Magarita was responsible for managing the portfolio team, driving strategic decisions through analytics, protecting the portfolio's bottom line through effective collection strategies, and enhancing portfolio management processes for new and existing products.

In addition to their roles in financial institutions, Magarita also worked as a Quantitative Analyst & Project Management at Metropol Credit Reference Bureau, where they were involved in business development, financial modeling, project management, and client training.

Magarita Sara began their career as a Business Development Officer - Corporate Medical Insurance at UAP Old Mutual Group and later worked as a New Business Officer at Standard Chartered Bank.

Magarita Sara Imbiakha, MSc pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematical Finance from Strathmore University, graduating in 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Actuarial Science with IT from Maseno University between 2006 and 2012. In 2004, they obtained their Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education from Moi Girls High School - Eldoret. In terms of additional certifications, Magarita has obtained various qualifications including DATA SCIENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING: MAKING DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS from MIT Schwarzman College of Computing in 2022 and Master Class Risk Governance from the Enterprise Risk Management Academy in 2016. Magarita Sara has also completed certifications in Advanced Branding, Design Thinking, Designing Emotion, Strategic Thinking, and SQL for Data Science from various institutions.
