Liam Tay Kearney

Liam Tay Kearney has a range of work experience in various roles. In 2016, they served as a Markets Risk & Liquidity Intern at Westpac Institutional Bank. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Junior Research Analyst at the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and also served as an Intern in the Global China Practice at KPMG China. In 2018, they took on the roles of Public Affairs Assistant at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and New Colombo Plan China Fellow. In 2020, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at The University of Western Australia. Liam attended Columbia University from 2020 to 2022, where they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Data Science (Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences) and a Master of International Affairs (MIA) in International Finance & Economic Policy at Columbia | SIPA.

Before that, from 2014 to 2019, Liam completed their Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) in Economics & Finance at The University of Western Australia. During this time, they also participated in the Honours Coursework Program at Tsinghua University in 2018 and 2019, focusing on Economics. Additionally, Liam studied Specialist Chinese in International Economics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2017 to 2018.
