John Kinnebrew

Machine Learning Engineer at mabl

John Kinnebrew has extensive experience in research and development, particularly in the field of machine learning and AI optimization. John started their career in 2005 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt University, where they worked on the design and development of adaptive learning environment projects. John also worked as a Research Associate on the Betty's Brain project, where they designed and implemented Hidden Markov Modeling and sequence mining approaches for learning behavior analysis.

In 2006 and 2007, John worked as a Research Intern at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories, where they collaborated on the development of autonomous agents for distributed, real-time embedded systems. John designed and implemented autonomous agent reasoning and communication protocols for efficient operation in sensor networks.

From 2010 to 2015, John worked as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems, where they had a leadership role in the design and development of adaptive learning environment projects. John also designed novel data mining algorithms for the identification of pedagogically-relevant behavior patterns.

In 2015, John joined Bridj as a Research Scientist, where they led the research and data science group in applying machine learning and AI optimization techniques to transportation modeling. John developed real-time optimal stop routing and a citywide multi-vehicle optimization system.

Since 2017, John has been working as a Machine Learning Engineer at mabl, where they continue to apply their expertise in machine learning and AI optimization.

John Kinnebrew completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Computer Science at Harvard University from 1997 to 2001. John then pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University from 2005 to 2007. Following this, John obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, completing their studies from 2007 to 2010.
