Jay Goodwin

Jay Goodwin is a skilled professional with extensive experience in the fields of chemistry, drug discovery, and STEM education. Currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at the MacArthur Foundation since June 2016, Jay focuses on developing nominations in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering while engaging with experts in these disciplines. Previous roles include Senior Research Fellow at Emory University, where Jay promoted findings related to alternative chemistries of life, and multiple positions in consulting and leadership, including Founder and President of ADMETRx, Inc., which specialized in drug discovery decision-making. Jay's background also includes significant contributions at Pharmacia and Pharmacia & Upjohn as a Principal Research Scientist, along with a fellowship at the National Science Foundation as part of the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship program. Jay holds a PhD in Bio-organic Chemistry from the University of Chicago and completed a post-doctorate in the same field at the University of Michigan.
