Maria Speiser is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communication roles. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Officer at the MacArthur Foundation since February 2019, Maria previously held multiple positions at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, including Deputy Director of State Network Advancement, where coordination and evaluation of a state affiliate network took place, and Deputy Director of State Communications, overseeing state communications strategies. Earlier in career, Maria worked in the United States Senate from October 2005 to May 2011 as Press Secretary and Deputy Press Secretary, managing communications operations and crafting press materials. Maria earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005.
