Ian Abbott

Ian Abbott is an experienced manufacturing engineering leader currently serving as the Technology Manufacturing Engineering Leader at MacDon Industries since September 2017. In parallel, Ian holds the position of Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Manitoba Badminton Association since September 2023. Previously, Ian was the Technical Director for Huskie Formula Racing, leading a team of over 80 members in the design and construction of a Formula SAE race car. Ian's background includes roles at the University of Saskatchewan as a student, and extensive engineering experience with MacDon Industries, Huskie Motorsports, SaskTel, and the Government of Saskatchewan. Ian earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, complementing a solid foundation in engineering principles developed early on at Loreburn Central School.
