Associate Dean, Development, Faculty Of Arts And Science at MacEwan University

Samuel Mugo, PhD, PChem, currently serves as the Associate Dean of Development for the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University, a position held since July 2014. Mugo oversees academic collaborations, coordinates diverse student opportunities, and engages in international recruitment and curriculum internationalization. As a Professor, Mugo leads an NSERC funded research program focused on developing advanced polymer nanomaterials for various applications, including environmental monitoring and health. Previous roles include Interim Associate Dean of the Faculty of Health and Community Studies, Interim Chair of the Physical Sciences Department, and MacEwan University Research Chair. Mugo also has experience as an Assistant Professor at MacEwan University, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen's University, and a Quality Control Chemist at Exxon Mobil. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Memorial University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
